SPOKANE, Wash. - A man walking in the middle of the street was hit by a van near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Garland Street early Friday morning.
According to a Spokane police officer, a woman called 911 just before 5 a.m. to report the man walking in the middle of the street. She called back a couple of minutes later to report that the man had been hit by a vehicle.
The officer said when police arrived, the man was extremely intoxicated. Police said he was hit by a newspaper delivery person, who will not be charged.
Police said the man was bleeding from his face and in and out of consciousness, but breathing, when he was taken to the hospital. His current condition is not known.
