SPOKANE, Wash. - The bomb squad was called in to investigate what police thought may have been a grenade, at a North Spokane gas station.
According to Spokane police, firefighters responded to the Chevron at Division and Wellesley around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday for a man who was having an unknown medical emergency. When firefighters were pulling him from the car, they noticed a suspicious object.
Firefighters alerted police, who responded to the scene.
A member of the bomb squad suited up to assess the item and deemed it as a demilitarized, or inert, grenade.
Chevron was blocked off for about an hour and a half.
