SPOKANE, Wash. - Major Crimes detectives are searching for a man wanted for murdering a woman at 2305 West Broadway in West Central Spokane.
The Spokane Police Department received a phone call around 2 p.m. Friday from a man who told them of a possible homicide victim, although he didn't have an address.
Officers began working on the case and were able to come up with an address - 2305 W. Broadway - where, when officers entered the apartment complex they did find the body of a woman in her 40s who, police said, "died under suspicious circumstances."
The officers immediately exited the building and then requested a search warrant so they could go back into the residence and begin conducting an investigation.
While authorities have not identified her, residents say she was a regular customer of Broadway Foods right across the street from the apartment where she was found.
"'I think it's tragic," Dawn Fowler said
"I think we are going to miss her. She was a good person and yeah, it's just sad," she added
Police have named 38-year old Tony T. Callihan as a suspect in the woman's murder.
"There is some level of relationship between them, I don't know what that is, but they know each other- and there is a relationship there at least to a minimal degree," Capt. Dave Richards with the Spokane Police Department said.
Police believe Callihan may be driving the vicitm's 2000 light green Dodge Stratus, license plate 474-WRH. Callihan also has an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Callihan is approximately 6 feet tall, 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. If you see Callihan call 911 right away.
