SPOKANE, Wash. - Dairy Queen paired with Children's Miracle Network Thursday for Miracle Treat Day, when you can enjoy a sweet treat, and cool down from our hot summer weather, all for a good cause.
Rebecka Jenno and her crew from the North Pines DQ delivered smiles and sweets Wednesday, turning another typical day at the hospital into anything but.
“Who doesn't want ice cream? It's a great way to get the word out and make kids happy here who aren't so lucky,” said Jenno.
Jenno and her team, as well as the Airway Heights DQ, gave kids their very own Miracle Treat Day.
The money raised Thursday goes right back to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital where kids are already getting the absolute best care in the Inland Northwest.
But these donations allow Children's Miracle Network to do so much more.
“We are really allowed to focus on the whole family through medical education for the patients as well as their families because a lot of these kids are critically ill with lots of complex treatments,” said Janna Dixon.
One of the tools nurses use now, thanks to your support, is the Accuvein, which allows them to locate veins on small children much easier.
“Really anything we can do to make it feel not like a hospital,” said Dixon.
You can help us with that mission by heading to your local Dairy Queen Thursday night and treating yourself to a blizzard. DQ stores will donate a dollar or more for each Blizzard sold.
You can also donate online.
