Classic cars pull together to benefit Meals on Wheels

SPOKANE, Wash. - Over 40 cars rumbled into Tony's Steer Inn in north Spokane for the Wheels 4 Meals Classic Car Show benefiting Spokane Meals on Wheels.

Organizer Eric Etzel says, "the Meals on Wheels programs have been really important to me and my family. There are a lot of other organizations that are as needed or necessary but we wanted to support one that was special to me and my family and also that needed a lot of help."

Etzel adds the program has aided those closest to him during their time of need.

"My grandparents and my parents have, on occasion, used Meals on wheels," says Etzel.

Participants say it was a fun event and knowing that all of the proceeds are going to a worthwhile cause makes it even more special.

"That's one of the main reasons I came out today, because Meals on Wheels is a great, great cause. It helps the community a lot," says Trisha Whitney, who brought out her classic car.

The event raised over $1,500 and Etzel says he plans on hosting it again next year.
