SPOKANE, Wash. - Three men drove a car through the wall of a marijuana retailer in northeast Spokane on Tuesday morning.
It happened just before 5 a.m. at The Green Nugget near Francis and Crestline.
Scott O'Neil, one of the owners of The Green Nugget, says three men pulled up in an older BMW, crashed it into the main entrance, and ransacked the store.
The owners of The Green Nugget lock up their cannabis product at night, but the three suspects made away with hundreds in glass pipes and bongs.
What was stolen really doesn't compare to the amount of damage that was caused.
"I mean, we are going to be closed for the next couple of days for sure, so I mean, that's a big hit," said O'Neil. "Not only to me, but to my employees too. They're going to miss three or four days of work and that's bigger for them."
O'Neil knows he's not the only pot shop that puts up with this kind of crime. He's noticed other stores with boarded up windows and serious damage.
The Green Nugget was actually hit just two weeks ago when someone threw rocks through a back window.
Calling police hasn't done much to help.
'They came out, the cops came out, and there is not a whole lot they can do because they are in and out in like thirty seconds," said O'Neill. "It's just frustrating that it keeps happening."
O'Neil says he'll work to get the store up and running as quickly as possible so he and his employees can get back to work.
