Police arrest one man after shots fired downtown

Spokane, Wash. - Spokane police arrested one person early Monday morning after shots were fired in downtown Spokane.

Police booked 31-year-old Shawn Denman into the Spokane County Jail on charges of theft of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm. 

Police received a shots fired call around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Browne and Division. The caller reported hearing gun shots around the Chili's parking lot. Police were on the scene only 30 seconds after the call came in. 

Police quickly detained three men who matched the suspect description. 

After police investigated, they found shots had been fired at the nearby Morris and Morris Law Firm building. No one was injured. 

They arrested Denman, who is a convicted felon.

He will appear in court Monday at 1:30 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
