BREMERTON, Wash. - Searchers are looking for a little girl who disappeared from her family home Saturday night in Bremerton, and are asking for help from anyone who may have seen her since then, the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office reports.
Janice Paulette Wright, 6, was last seen by family members around 10 p.m. Saturday when she went to bed in the family home at Steele Creek Mobile Home Park, 1438 NE Steele Creek Drive, East Bremerton.
The family told deputies that the little girl has left their home on previous occasions and wandered around the neighborhood together with siblings or friends, but checks in every few hours.
When the family awakened Sunday morning and she wasn't in the house, family members assumed she was in the local vicinity.
The family became concerned when they hadn't heard from Janice by 8:30 p.m. Sunday and started checking door-to-door in the mobile home park. When that proved unsuccessful, the family called 911 around 9:55 p.m. Sunday night.
Deputies launched a search for the girl using search dogs at about 1:30 a.m. Monday, but so far there has been no sign of her.
Janice Wright is described as standing 3 feet tall and weighing 45 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
Anyone who knows anything about her whereabouts is asked to call Kitsap County 911 dispatch center or (360) 308-5400.
