FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Authorities have identified a woman shot to death Saturday south of Seattle.

The Seattle Times reports she was identified as 33-year-old Tabitha Apling.

Federal Way Police say the woman was found dead in an apartment. A 46-year-old suspect, who was reportedly her estranged boyfriend, was found inside the same apartment with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to a Seattle hospital in critical condition.

The suspect's mother told police she saw Apling arguing with her son when he pulled a gun, the two struggled and the gun fired.

The woman told police she later fled with her two young grandchildren.

Police have forwarded the case to prosecutors for possible charges.
