COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Authorities say a 49-year-old northern Idaho man died when his own vehicle rolled over him during a firewood-gathering trip.
The Shoshone County sheriff's office says Raymond Martin of Post Falls was badly injured when he was found on a rural road July 7. Emergency workers responded and took Martin to a nearby base camp so he could be taken by air ambulance to a local hospital, but Martin died before he reached the hospital.
The sheriff's office originally thought he had been injured in a rollover accident, but investigators later determined that Martin was struck by his own vehicle, which was fully loaded with firewood.
The vehicle then continued down the road before going over a steep embankment.
