Man falls to death in Coeur d'Alene industrial accident

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Fatal construction accident

Coeur d'Alene Police are calling a fatal industrial accident tragic after a man working at the Riverstone subdivision along Seltice Way fell to his death Tuesday afternoon.

Police identified the man killed as 67-year-old Larry Jones. Jones was working on one of the roofs near North Grand Mill Lane and Seltice Way when he fell. He was deceased when officers arrived.

Jones was working as a sub-contractor for Copper Basin Construction on some new apartment buildings measuring for rain gutters when he fell. Police say he wasn't wearing a safety harness, something his brother and sister-in-law said was unlike him.

They say Jones was well-liked and a workaholic who installed gutters for 15 years and had worked in other parts of construction before that.

He leaves behind a wife, two brothers and two sisters. The family has not made funeral arrangements. If you would like to make a donation, you can give money to Mountain West Bank and Numerica Credit Union under "Larry Jones Memorial Fund."
