Get into the holiday spirit with 'Cool Yule'

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - You can get into the Christmas spirit at the Coeur d'Alene Resort this holiday season with the "Cool Yule" musical.

The musical is being put on by the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theater troupe; their show was so popular last year, they added more shows this year.

"The first act we talk about all the traditions of Christmas that we do without knowing why we do them, like why do we haul out the holly? Why do we put up a tree?"

Cool Yule

That's the gist of 'Cool Yule'," Roger Welch said.

"The cast is fabulous, they're wonderful, the voices from heaven, they really are, they're just terrific," actress Ellen Travolta said.

Travolta, a big backer of the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre troupe, encourages families to see the show.

"It's a great place to bring the family, the lights, the rooms, the restaurants and this wonderful show, everybody is funny, attractive," Travolta smiled.

And she's right, too. The set of four veterans are the best of friends and that bond shines onstage.

"We really are friends, we've known each other for years and years, we used to work together a long time ago and we reunited last year for a show at the resort and yeah, there's never a lack of conversation between us," Mark Cotter said.

You'll learn a lot about Christmas, hear your favorite songs, and maybe add a new favorite to your playlist, an original song to this play called "Coeur d'Alene Christmas."
