Motorcyclist killed in crash with deer

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. - Spokane County Sheriff's Office confirmed a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a deer north of Airway Heights.

Deputies tell KXLY 4 the victim is a 64-year-old man. He was riding his motorcycle west on Coulee Hite Rd. just before 4:30 a.m. when he hit the deer. 

When first responders arrived on scene, they pronounced the victim dead. His family has been notified.

North Coulee Hite Rd. is closed east of Wood Rd. as a result of the crash. Deputies said it will be several hours before the road reopens.    

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the driver along with cause and manner of death when appropriate to do so.
