SPOKANE, Wash. - A flash mob crashed the Spokane Valley mall Thursday night so a Spokane man could propose to his girlfriend.
The boyfriend, Greg Morrey Jr., said it was his girlfriend's dream to be proposed to by a flash mob.So he and his church group practiced for weeks to pull it off.
Before the couple met the flash mob, the group waited anxiously and stood around to make it look like they were just hanging out.Man proposes in Valley mall flash mob
"I've been sick all day. I'm that excited," said the best friend to the girlfriend Beth Hansen
According to friends, the couple courtship was brief.
"They met at a single's event, you're not going to believe this, a month ago," said Hansen.
A flash mob is tough to pull off as it is, but a proposal is even harder. The whole situation added a whole new level of nervousness where everyone is hoping she would say yes.
"It better! Yes, I think it will," said choreographer Janette Kneese.
At 8:30 p.m., the couple walked out into the mall in front of the Macy's store. There she saw people dancing and eventually her boyfriend joined in. He got down on one knee and she said yes.
"I've never had someone put so much effort into something. I don't even know what to say," said future bride Lauretta Jenkins.
"She just makes me laugh every day. She's just one of the best women I've ever met. She is just so awesome," said Morrey.
No word on their wedding date but there should be one soon.
