Inmate escapes Lewis County jail

LEWIS COUNTY, Idaho - UPDATE: Derek Bost, 54, has been captured and is in custody, according to the Latah County Sheriff's Office.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Office is searching for Derek Bost, 54. Bost escaped from the county jail Wednesday afternoon where he was being held for multiple charges including felony possession of a controlled substance and felony possession of a firearm.

Bost is 5'11", has hazel eyes, brown hair and weighs about 180 lbs. He's gained about 40 pounds since the attached picture was taken. Police say he was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit.

Police say Bost could be traveling in a gray, rusty 1999 Jeep Cherokee with State of Idaho license number: I540046. The vehicle is missing both side mirrors and a front headlight. It's believed Bost has a pistol pellet gun in the vehicle. Officers say he could also be traveling in a gray 1992 Jeep Cherokee with Idaho License number: 3L 15953.
