SPOKANE, Wash. - According to the calendar, it's still fall in the Inland Northwest until next Wednesday. But take a look around and we'll all agree, winter is here.
Even if you love the season, there's one aspect of winter no one likes: cleaning off your car. If you park outside, you've likely been waking up to your car covered in snow and ice. You can scrape it or wait for your defroster to kick in and melt it all.
But there's an at-home solution that can make clearing your car easier. Just mix one part water with two parts rubbing alcohol and put it in a spray bottle. You can keep the mixture in your car because rubbing alcohol's freezing point is 128 degrees below zero. Don't throw warm water on your windshield as it could crack.
You might also consider buying a snow shield. It covers your windshield so it could help you avoid snow and ice on your car in the first place. The General Store has them for about $10.
