The shooting happened at 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hill n' Dale Apartments on Colton and Magnesium. Police say a man wearing a hockey mask broke into an apartment through a sliding glass door and opened fire.

The vicitm's two children were also the room when the shooting happened.
"Those are the things that horror movies are made of absolutely," Major Craig Meidl with the Spokane Police Department said.
The victim was hit and is expected to survive
Police used a K-9 to track the suspect but lost his scent in a nearby parking lot. As detectives continue to search for the suspect... They also search for a motivation behind the shooting.
"In this case an upstanding citizen in his house getting ready to call it an evening and this person forces entry," Meidl said. "There's absolutly nothing at this point to lead us to believe this person was targeted for anything that we can determine."
The suspect is described as a white male, 5'10" with a stocky build. If you have any information on this shooting you're asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
