Detectives investigate homicide in Grant County

WARDEN, Wash. - Detectives are investigating a homicide in Grant County that happened early Wednesday morning.

According to Grant County Sheriff's spokesman Kyle Foreman, someone called 911 just before midnight Wednesday to report seeing a body being loaded into a car. The car then sped away. That happened on the 6700 block of State Route 262 East, which is near the MarDon resort.

Foreman said about a half hour later, Warden police responded to the 300 block of Main Street in Warden, where there was a report of a man with a gunshot wound. When police arrived, they found a dead man in an SUV outside the Mozelle Apartments.

Deputies aren't saying where the gunshot wound was or how many he had.

They also couldn't say what the car, or cars, in the incidents looked like, but they do believe the incidents are connected.

The body is in the coroner's possession and the car has been towed away as evidence.

Warden Police, Grant County Sheriff's Office, Othello Police, Washington State Patrol, Grant County Coroner's Office and the Multi Agency Communications Center all helped with the incident.
