'Camping 4 Coats' organizers on track for several days of camping

'Camping 4 Coats' organizers on track...

SPOKANE, Wash - In an effort to gather coats for KXLY's Coats 4 Kids, Jamison Hook and his Allstate colleague Bret, agreed to camp outside Litz's Bar and Grill in Spokane for 10 minutes for each coat they gathered.

"Not everyone wants to give back to the community," said Hook. "Some people might just want to see us freeze. So we wanted to give two reasons for people to donate."

By 5:00 p.m. on Friday, they had gathered 500 coats, which equaled 5000 minutes of camping. By 6:30 p.m. people had dropped off nearly 150 more.

Jamison and Bret's goal is to collect 800 coats by the end of the Coats 4 Kids drive which ends Oct. 31.

Coat distribution begins Nov. 1.
