SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane County Sheriff's Office Major Crime Detectives gave identified the human remains that were discovered by a hunter in a wooded area near Brooks and Thorpe Road back in early May.
Working with the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office, a Wasington State Forensic Anthropologist, and a Washington State Odontologist, the Sheriff's Office identified the remains as 28-year-old Chuan Yang. Their release listed Yang's cause of death as "gunshot wound of the head".
A search of the scene and surrounding area was conducted and evidence collected included a glock handgun and a Social Security Card belonging to Yang. The handgun was purchased in 2015 by Yang
Investigators have ruled the case a suicide.
