Early morning crash on US 95 near Coeur d'Alene kills teenager

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - One man is dead and another is hospitalized after an early morning crash on US Route 95 just south of Coeur d'Alene Tuesday morning.

At approximately 6:21 a.m., a 1998 BMW sedan, driven by Joshua D. Jim, 19, of Plummer, Idaho, was traveling northbound on US 95 at milepost 425 and negotiated a slight curve when a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Christopher J. Thompson, 28, of Post Falls, Idaho, traveling southbound crossed the center lane and struck Jim's vehicle. 

Both Jim and Thompson were transported to Kootenai Health where Jim was declared dead.

Jim was wearing his seat belt during the collision while Thompson was not.

The collision is under investigation with charges pending.
