Thief steals painkillers from Cd'A pharmacy
Coeur d'Alene Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a pharmacy on the south side of the city Sunday night.
Just after 5:00 Sunday evening, police were called to the Rite Aid at 208 W. Ironwood Drive on a report of an OxyContin robbery.
A clerk in the pharmacy told police that a man approached the counter and handed the pharmacist a note demanding painkillers and claiming he had a gun. The pharmacist complied with the thief's request and gave the suspect an unknown number of the power painkillers.
The suspect was able to get away from the store before officers arrived. Police set up a perimeter around the store and called in a K-9 unit to try and track the suspect, but the search turned up nothing.
Police describe the suspect as a male, about 5'10" tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and black tennis shoes with white trim. Police say the man was wearing a black baseball cap and ski mask to hide his face.
If you have any information about the crime, you are asked to call the Coeur d'Alene Police Department.
