MOSES LAKE, Wash. -

A Moses Lake man is recovering while another man is in jail after an early morning machete attack north of town Saturday.

Around 3 a.m. Grant County Sheriff deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call at 10318 County Road 16-NE, where they found Agustin Jimenez, 27, with a deep cut on his left arm from a machete wielded by 20-year-old Jesus Adrian Jimenez.

After the attack, Jesus allegedly took a rifle and some ammunition and fled into a field after the attack, prompting the call-up of the Moses Lake Tactical Response Team to help support the effort to take Jesus into custody.

Jesus made his way back into the house, where he was apprehended after struggling briefly with officers.

Agustin Jimenez was treated by paramedics and taken to the hospital while Jesus Jimenez was booked in the Grant County Jail on a charge of 1st Degree Assault.
