Hundreds of people came together Thursday to help those in need as part of Project Homeless Connect in Post Falls.

As part of the project people were able to look through racks of cloths, take food but also connect to resources that could help with their future.

As people walked into Project Homeless Connect, they were surveyed to help with a point in time count for the homeless in the five northern counties. They continued on to a room full of clothes. It flowed into another filled with food to be taken home.

Those that needed it also got medical help and connected with resources like the Idaho Department of Labor and Family Promise that helps with housing.

"People that wouldn't traditionally access services are now needing and utilizing those resources that we have in our community," Matt Hutchinson with St. Vincent de Paul said.

This is the fifth year for this event and around 300 people were expected to attend with just as many volunteers on hand to make sure it ran smoothly.
