Former Nez Perce Sheriff Jim Dorion plans to sue his former employer – the county – for injuries he claims he received while in jail.

Dorion was removed from office in 2008 and later served four months in jail on accessory to burglary charges after he was extradited back to Idaho from Louisiana.

While in jail Dorion claims he was injured and wants the county to pay $500,000 in damages.

According to a claim filed this week Dorion was injured sometime between August 10th when he was in the Nez Perce County Jail and three days later when he was transferred to the custody of the Idaho Department of Corrections.
