Pair in stolen car elude Kootenai County deputies

POST FALLS, Idaho -- Kootenai County Sheriff's deputies are trying to track down two men who led them on a short pursuit through Post Falls before bailing from their stolen car near the Spokane River.The chase started just before 9:00 p.m. on Thursday when deputies noticed a stolen car just outside State Line Showgirls. Deputies say two men got in the car and began to drive away, that's when deputies tried to pull them over.The two men then led deputies on a short chase on Seltice Way before pulling south on to Pleasant View, reaching speeds of up to 85 miles-per hour. Deputies say the two driver slowed down when they reached then end of Pleasant View, but then both men bailed out of the vehicle and began running from deputies."Fortunately one of the K-9's was on and close, so he was able to start a track fairly quickly," said Sgt Mike McFarlind with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department. "They made a great big circle, but unfortunately we didn't find the two."Kootenai County Sheriff deputies, with the help of Post Falls police, began to set up a perimeter around the crash scene near Buck Knives, the Post Falls Outlet Mall, and Jacklin Seed. After searching on foot for nearly two hours, officers were still not able to find the two.The two suspects are described as white men with middle-length blond hair, wearing multi-colored shirts.
