MOSES LAKE -- A month-and-a-half ago Jimmy Fraser went from a healthy husband and father to a man on his death-bed from pneumonia in just two weeks.
blog comments powered by DisqusFraser's wife, Catherine, says that Jimmy was sick for a week before he finally went in to see the doctor where he tested negative for swine flu. That's because he didn't have the flu by then, it had turned into pneumonia. Jimmy spent 12 days on a ventilator before his organs started shutting down. He died on Halloween.“My message is just don't brush this flu off, take care of yourself,” Catherine said. “When our children are sick we take them to the doctor. When the elderly are sick we take them to a doctor. In our age group we have to work to do that and we need to push through it.”Two rooms at Crossroads Resource Center in Moses Lake were dedicated to Jimmy Thursday. Crossroads is a place that helps those who find themselves with unplanned pregnancies. Jimmy remodeled the building in his free time last winter because he was one of the most selfless people one could ever meet according to friends and family.“You think, he's young, he's 44 years old, he's in good health, he loved people, loved his family, he's the kind of guy we need in our culture, and he's gone,” Jimmy's friend Chuck Yarbro said.
