SPOKANE -- Spokane Valley resident Stuart Anderson was geocaching in the Dishman Hills Monday in the moments before he slipped and fell off a cliff to his death.Anderson had been spending the day hiking the hills with his wife participating in geocaching, a high-tech scavenger hunt that with locations marked all over the world.“950,000 active geocaches around the world,” geocacher Rick Washburn said. There are quite a few geocaches in the Spokane area including Dishman Hills, with some placed in precarious locations that can present a challenge for people to reach. Rick Washburn says that some locations are placed in dangerous locations but “that's kind of the intent of geocaching, to create a challenge.”
