Forensic experts called in to help with Grindley case

Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers has called for assistance from Washington State Patrol and State Crime Lab forensic experts to help process potential evidence from a truck that may have been involved in the Kristen Grindley case.

Grindley, 23, was found unconscious and in critical condition on a road north of Pullman last week.

Washington State Patrol investigators and state crime lab technicians have been called in to assist processing evidence from Grindley's boyfriend's truck. The truck was processed for evidence in Colfax Monday, and everything collected will be sent to the crime lab for analysis.

Sheriff Brett Myers says that it won't be until December before any findings would come back from the crime lab.

Investigators have identified Grindley’s boyfriend as a person of interest in the case and deputies seized his truck a few hours after she was found.

Grindley, meanwhile, is in satisfactory condition at Sacred Heart Medical Center. Sheriff Myers says it will be at least a week before investigators would be able to talk to her about what happened.
