Spokane Police say 56-year-old Toni Sneva was found injured on a trail following an extensive search near Nine Mile Dam.

Officers say Sneva was found around 4:00 Sunday morning on one of the many hiking trails in the area of the dam with a broken ankle.

Sneva had left to go for a walk near the dam at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, she was reported missing when she failed to show up to meet a group of friends around 7:00 Saturday evening.

Officers found Sneva's car parked at the dam, but noted that the vehicle had frost on it and must have been parked there for quite some time. Lowering temperatures prompted police to call in for more searchers and the Spokane County Sheriff's helicopter to help with the search. Even the American Red Cross sent their Emergency Response Vehicle to the dam to provide rescuers with coffee, snacks and water.

Sneva was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment, she has since been released from the hospital.
