Posted: 11:30 am PDT October 19, 2009

Police now know the man who is in critical condition after being hit by a train Friday morning.

Bennie Natewa Jr., 21, was identified by the public after Idaho State Police posted pictures of his clothing to help identify him.

Natewa Jr. is a resident of Coeur d'Alene but is originally from Zuni, New Mexico.  Troopers have notified his family of his accident.

Troopers say Natewa Jr. walked in front of a moving train at about 5 a.m.  Firefighters had to free him when he became pinned underneath the train.

Police think the man may have been drinking before the accident.

The Idaho State Police would like to thank the public and local agencies for their help in identifying this individual.
