Rivers of America (1973 and 1983) -- In 1973, two brothers stayed on Disneyland's Tom Sawyer's Island past closing time and attempted to swim back by crossing the Rivers of America attraction. The older brother, 18, drowned while trying to carry his 10-year-old brother on his back. In 1983, an 18-year-old man drowned while trying to pilot a rubber emergency boat from Tom Sawyer's Island that he and a friend had stolen.
