2 men at large after shooting at WSP trooper

GRANDVIEW, Wash. - Washington State Patrol are searching for two men who shot at a trooper during a traffic stop near Grandview.

The trooper pulled over a black Honda Accord for speeding. They first tried to flee, but came to a stop in a driveway. Two dark skinned men got out of the Accord and started shooting at the trooper as they ran away.

The trooper was able to take cover and did not get injured, but did return fire. WSP said he is lucky to be alive.

"They shot at a trooper, basically trying to murder him, so we are taking this very seriously," said Trooper Chris Thorson.

Troopers initially thought the two men were hiding in a nearby home, but after an hours long stand-off they discovered the men had gotten away.
