January 22 marked the one-year anniversary of the death of Joe Paterno. Take a look back at some of the images from his storied career.

Paterno walks to his residence after speaking to a group of students rallying outside it in November 2011 shortly after a scandal broke that ultimately ended Paterno's career. Former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was accused of abusing children, and questions arose as to whether Paterno did enough when allegations were brought to him.
