Annie Bishop joined the KXLY4 Team in June of 2005, but she is no stranger to the KXLY4 family. In 2003, after graduating from Washington State University, Annie spent the summer as an intern in the KXLY Newsroom. It was that summer that truly hooked her on a career in journalism.
After that, she spent three months interning at the ABC affiliate in Yakima, then landed her first on-air job in Alaska. With only four days notice, Annie packed her bags and headed north to Anchorage. Annie spent a year and a half in the last frontier, covering everything from The Iditarod to the crash of a Malaysian freighter that spilled thousands of gallons of diesel into the Bering Sea. She also was chased by a black bear while covering a story - only in Alaska! For her coverage of a young girl whose father was killed in the line of duty, Annie received the Alaska Victims for Justice award. More recently Annie was recognized by her peers, taking home a regional Emmy for a same day feature story.
Annie is excited to be back in the Northwest and working at KXLY4 News. She now lives just a few hours from her family in Seattle and has the opportunity to ski at some of the best resorts in the country. The best part about being back, though, is spending time with her husband Troy.
