A religious monument that's been in a Sandpoint park for the last four decades could be coming down.

It's not sitting well with many people. Earlier this month, 100 people turned out at Farmin Park to protest.

The 10 Commandments monument has been in that park for the last 42 years.  It was a gift from the Eagle's Club.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, based in Wisconsin, sent a letter to the mayor's office asking them to take it down.

The city council will take up the topic at tonight's meeting and we'll be there for it.

The council isn't expected to make any decisions yet, they just want to discuss the matter.

What are your thoughts?  Should the monument stay or go?
