A new study says taxing by the calorie could curb obesity.

The study by the National Bureau of Economic Research and a report in the Washington Post says doctors want to add the tax to foods high in fat and sugar.

Experts are blaming the country's fat problems on fast food and other junk food and feel a higher tax, similar to the way cigarettes are already taxed, would cause people to stop eating poorly.
