The city council in Austin, Texas may take the first step toward a partial fast food ban.

The proposal would create so-called "healthy food zones" around schools, parks, daycares and more.

The "healthy food ordinance" would restrict new fast-food restaurants, convenience stores and even food trucks from building close to schools and other places kids may visit like parks and libraries.

City officials say what constitutes as healthy could be left to up to FDA guidlines and the city.

Is this ban a good idea? Is the close proximately of fast food to children contributing to childhood obesity?
