Scientists in New Zealand have developed what they're calling a super cow that lowers the effects of milk allergies.

Normal cow's milk contains the protein, BLG, that babies can develop allergies to.

Daisy the cow was bred by AgResearch scientists, who insist everything they've done to Daisy has animal ethics approval.

Her mother was injected with synthetic cells which affected Daisy's mammary glands so she produces milk that's almost BLG free.

Daisy's milk could provide an alternative ingredient for infant formula, which is a growing export market for our farmers.

But critics say rather than boosting business news of the genetically engineered milk could put our 10 billion dollar a year dairy industry at risk.

And there's always the health aspect: Would you want to drink genetically engineered cow's milk? Would you want your infant drinking it?
