Some children like to go with the flow, while others thrive on predictability and routine.
This week's Wednesday's Child is most comfortable with familiarity and consistency.
Will and I rummaged through boxes and bins at Portland's Children's Museum, trying to find just the right things for Will's special project.
There was a lot of choosing, cutting, and gluing involved.
Will is 12-years-old, and he's in the sixth grade.
He's a huge fan of Mario Brothers. Luigi is Will's favorite.
If he could do nothing but hang out with the Mario crew, that would be alright with Will.
“Play video games, that's basically all I like to do,” he said.
Will does actually like other things, like riding bikes, listening to music, and singing.
He's an admitted sweet tooth, who thinks he's a funny character.
Will would like to be adopted into a home with people like him, who thrive on routine, security, and who like to play video games.
His ideal family would be a mother and a father, and at least 2 brother and one sister.
But, he says being an only child would be okay, too.
And maybe a pet, a low maintenance cat.
Will is only 12, but like a lot of children in foster care, he is worried about his age.
“The older you get, the harder it is to be adopted,” said Will.
