Next up was "Moneyball," which saw Pitt playing real-life Oakland Athletics General Manger Billy Beane in an adaptation of the 2003 book of the same name by Michael Lewis. The role earned Pitt his third Oscar nomination and the movie was also nominated for five other Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Jonah Hill.
