Shailene Woodley in talks for 'Spider-Man 2'
Mary Jane Watson previously portrayed by Kirsten Dunst
With "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" coming to an end, perhaps Shailene Woodley is looking to beef up her film presence.
According to Variety, the 20-year-old actress is in early talks to portray Mary Jane Watson in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
The Marc Webb-directed feature is the sequel to this year's "The Amazing Spider-Man," which starred Andrew Garfield as Spidey and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.
If the deal happens, Woodley would take on the red-headed role as previously portrayed by Kirsten Dunst in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy, and begin production along with Garfield early next year.
The sequel's production team is also looking to fill the role of Peter Parker's best friend and future foe Harry Osborn, who was previously played by James Franco in Raimi's films.
For this installment, though, Electro is rumored to be in consideration as the villain of choice.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is due out May 2, 2014.
