Josh Brolin is looking ahead after his New Year's Day arrest to a new gig.

The 44-year-old actor has signed on to the next "Sin City" movie along with another newcomer, Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

According to a press release from the studio, Brolin will portray Dwight in the upcoming sequel, called "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For."

Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller are returning to helm this follow-up installment, and both praised Brolin's casting.

"Dwight is a constant character throughout the 'Sin City' world, and 'A Dame to Kill For' is a defining episode in his life," the co-directors said in a statement. "We're looking forward to Josh's take on Dwight."

Gordon-Levitt, meanwhile, has been cast as Johnny in "A Dame To Kill For," a role Deadline reports was originally extended to Johnny Depp.

Rodriguez and Miller announced in December that they were also bringing Dennis Haysbert on board the "Sin City" sequel to portray Manute, the role left vacant after the passing of Michael Clarke Duncan. The role of the "Dame" has not yet been cast.

"Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" is currently in production in Austin, Texas with an expected release date of October 4.
