Most of the time being a Hollywood actor is all about the glitz and the glamour, but occasionally actors have to go that extra mile to transform themselves for a role. Take a look at some of the most dramatic actor transformations ever seen on film.

Vogue magazine described the "near-starvation diet" as consisting of "two thin squares of dried oatmeal paste" per day. The actress said she didn't feel like herself when filming wrapped. "I was in such a state of deprivation - physical and emotional. When I got home, I couldn't react to the chaos of the world without being overwhelmed. It took me weeks till I felt like myself again," she told the magazine.
